Macon Aero Modelers Safety News August 11, 2006

From the Safety Coordinator

Greg Doster

This article is in the August 06 issue of Model Aviation magazine on page 97.

Does your homeowner's insurance policy cover your models if they are stolen?

Very good question. Even further, Does your homeowner's policy cover an accident while flying radio controlled aircraft?

It would probably be a good idea to check into your policy and request something in writing stating coverage in this area. I know I am.......

Don't presume anything unless you have it in writing and do not feel comfortable flying with someone who is not an A.M.A. member and rely on whether or not their homeowner's policy will cover an accident should it happen.

Make sure that you are covered for theft and liability on your models and that your homeowner's policy will be "primary" and not your "A.M.A." coverage.
